About Us

RODI [row-dee] is the passion project of Jo, Andrew, Jeff, and so many family, friends, and loved ones. The owners and employees adore the town of Loveland, which provides an idyllic background with its picturesque historic downtown and beautiful winding river. We are forever grateful to the incredible customers who have shown unwavering support since the opening of RODI in February of 2021.

Our Team

Jo Beyersdorfer

Proprietor

Jo Beyersdorfer grew up in Madeira, Ohio and attended Ohio University where she earned her degree from the College of Honors Tutorial in Dance for Choreography and Performance, while also training as a Pilates instructor. After earning her degree, she moved to Los Angeles (pretty much just to live on the beach) and founded JNB Marketing & Events which she ran for 12 years,  primarily producing events in the startup/entrepreneurial/tech community. Some of these events included Silicon Beach Fest, Social Media Week LA, and Crypto Invent Summit; Jo also cofounded events such as the original LA Startup Week. Despite focusing on event production and management, Jo kept an involvement in restaurants and developed a passion for good food and fine wine. At the urging of her younger sister, she began looking for a restaurant space ‘back home’ in Cincinnati, and the seed for RODI was planted.

Andrew Rettig

General Manager

Andrew Z. Rettig was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Price Hill where he started (officially) working at restaurants at the age of 14. He attended Saint Xavier High School and went on to study Graphic Design at the University of Cincinnati's DAAP program. He bartended his way through college in Clifton for 7 years, working for most of the bars near campus. After college Andrew moved to Over The Rhine where he worked for Molly Wellmann at The Famous Neons Unplugged & Japp's Since 1879. He moved on to restaurants in 2013 opening Salazar with Josè Salazar and eventually being named Assistant General Manager and Beverage Director. He then went on to open Mita's Restaurant & Bar as General Manager and Beverage Director. Andrew bartended around through the pandemic and found RODI Italian tucked away in quaint little downtown Loveland and has been loving it ever since.

Jeff Thurman

Executive Chef

Jeff Thurman was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio. He started working in restaurants at the age of 14. He attended Badin High School and went on to study Culinary Management at the University of Cincinnati's Dual Enrollment program with The Midwest Culinary Institute. He cooked his way through college in Clifton for 4 years, working for Chalk Food+Wine under Chef Jared Whalen. After college, Jeff moved to Pleasant Ridge and moved on to La Poste Eatery with Dave Taylor. Eventually Jeff was named Chef de Cuisine of Brad Bernstein's restaurant, Red Feather. Jeff found RODI Italian soon after its opening and has quickly moved up the ranks to Executive Chef.
